YOGA FOR GRIEF
"Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you." ~ L.R. Knost
Unlike other emotions that easily pass through our daily human experience, grief has a unique way of taking hold and demanding our attention. By addressing it with loving and unconditional support, grief has a transformative power. Grief is not something to "get over." It is a natural part of the human condition. In fact, if you live long enough, you will experience grief at some point; the loss of a loved one, a career, a dream or even the state of the world. When the wave of grief comes, it comes with important lessons. When met with compassion and mindful awareness, grief can be a powerful teacher.
Join yoga therapists and hospice clinicians, Carrie Tyler, RN and Avantika Waleryszak, MSW, at this special monthly gathering. Together we will explore the balance between two different core emotions, infusing gentle yoga with rituals, journaling, art, meditation and breathwork. Time will be allotted at each session to share your process with others in the safe space that we will co-create together. Sharing is always optional, and we honor and respect where each participant is in their process.
